Well, what we thought would be a short gap in being able to open the Tower to the public proved to be much longer than anyone expected.
Obviously, there were more important matters that everyone had to contend with.
Sadly, the pandemic took its toll – in many different ways – on our group of volunteers. Whilst the wonderful Roman had made regular visits to empty buckets, we hadn’t managed to do anything else.
Towards the end of 2022 those of us remaining decided it was time to try and rejuvenate the group and get more people willing and able to volunteer at the Tower.
Thanks to a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund we’re working on ways to involve more people and showcase the Tower as possible venue for all sorts of events.
