It’s been a cold, damp winter and our leaky roof means it hasn’t been pleasant inside the tower for the past few months. We’ve been busy though, preparing a Conservation Management Plan to help schedule the necessary restoration and repairs when funding to do them has been secured. We’ve also been designing some long overdue interpretation panels for outside the tower for occasions when volunteers are unable to open it for visitors.

Return of our original door!
Back in the summer of 2024, we sent our original door off for restoration work. The door had been in place since the Tower was built in the early 1800s, and it was rapidly deteriorating. Read more…
