The Wish Tower Friends are excited to share that we will once again be taking part in Heritage Open Days, between 11th and 20th September.
Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture, offering free access to heritage events and activities across England.
We’ve already welcomed over 2,200 people to the Wish Tower in 2026 to date, and generous donations from visitors are helping us make vital repairs, carry out regular maintenance, and better share the Tower’s fascinating story.
As a small group of volunteers, The Wish Tower Friends are delighted to take part in an event which celebrates local history and encourages people to visit.
We will be open for EIGHT FREE EVENTS over the duration:
Architectural Tours

Four 90-minute tour slots are available. Tickets are free, but pre-booking is essential.
The Wish Tower Friends will take you on a special guided visit around our Napoleonic-era Tower, highlighting the many fascinating architectural features. We’ll talk about the design inspiration for Martello Towers, unique features of our own Tower 73, and how our Tower has changed over the years.
